Targeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA Conformance

Jinny's Eyelash & Beauty Studio is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to achieve this goal.

Our Commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and to comply with applicable requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Measures We Have Taken

We have implemented the following accessibility measures on our website:

Skip Navigation: A "Skip to main content" link is provided at the top of every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation.

Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements — navigation, modals, menus — are fully operable via keyboard. Focus order follows a logical reading sequence.

Visible Focus Indicators: All interactive elements display a clear, visible focus ring (2px solid outline) that meets WCAG 2.2 SC 2.4.7 requirements.

Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against backgrounds, meeting WCAG 2.2 SC 1.4.3 (AA).

Alternative Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes so screen readers skip them.

ARIA Landmarks & Roles: Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and ARIA roles are used throughout to help assistive technologies understand page structure.

Modal Dialogs: Modals implement focus trapping, aria-modal="true", aria-labelledby, and Escape-to-close behavior per WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices.

Reduced Motion: All animations and transitions are suppressed for users who have enabled the "Reduce Motion" preference in their operating system (via prefers-reduced-motion).

Touch Targets: All interactive elements meet the minimum 44×44px touch target size on mobile devices.

Scalable Text: Text is set in relative units and remains readable and functional when the browser font size is increased up to 200%.

Language Declaration: The lang="en" attribute is set on every page, enabling screen readers to use the correct pronunciation rules.

Technical Specifications

Our website relies on the following technologies:

  • HTML5 (semantic markup)
  • CSS3 (including media queries for responsive design and prefers-reduced-motion)
  • JavaScript (progressive enhancement — core content is accessible without JS)
  • Tailwind CSS (utility-first styling framework)
  • GSAP ScrollTrigger (deferred, non-blocking animations)

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance, some areas may not yet fully meet all guidelines:

  • Third-party content: External links (e.g., Instagram) are maintained by third parties and are outside our control. We cannot guarantee their accessibility.
  • Legacy images: Some older images in our gallery may have limited descriptive alt text. We are actively reviewing and improving these.

We are actively working to address these limitations as part of our ongoing improvement process.

Assessment Approach

Jinny's Eyelash & Beauty Studio assesses website accessibility through:

  • Self-evaluation against WCAG 2.2 AA criteria
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing
  • Screen reader testing (VoiceOver on macOS/iOS)
  • Automated tools (Lighthouse, axe DevTools)
